Global ground protection specialist GroundGuards will demonstrate the latest products from its pioneering range at IRE 2023.

Visitors to the company’s stand 2510 at Maastricht’s MECC on June 6 to 8 can view the company’s flagship product the MaxiTrack the world’s most heavy duty, man-handleable trackway mat, guaranteed unbreakable by vehicles up to 130 tonnes; and the FastCover Plus temporary walkway matting product.

MaxiTrack – dubbed as a ‘true industry disruptor’ – was in excess of three years in development, and continued refinement has created a heavy-duty mat that’s versatile, man-handleable, and solves many operational problems in a safe, quick, and efficient way.

It’s particularly suitable for medium to longer-term projects especially if there’s to be higher traffic volumes and increased use such as temporary access roads. Softer ground conditions, heavy machinery use, or larger areas like car parks or site compounds are all applications where this system performs well.

MaxiTrack mats – which are made from 100% recycled material and can be installed or removed by just two people without the need for pre-planned mechanical lifting – have been used in rigorous conditions including by the British Army’s terrier tanks; by construction companies manoeuvring across stadiums; and even to taxi a Boeing 727 across grass.

In summary, their key benefits are:

  • Non-mechanical;
  • Easy to clean;
  • Easy to handle – only 40kgs per mat;
  • Tough, reliable, dependable;
  • Mud suppression.

Meanwhile, FastCover Plus mats are suitable for construction site walkways, temporary pedestrian crossings, and footpath diversions.

Manufactured from 100% recycled PVC – a totally green material, made from recycled electrical cable insulation which would otherwise go to landfill – they’re quick to install, simple to remove and reuse, and fully recyclable at the end of their life.

They’re used in a wide range of applications including surface protection for block paving or interior floors, temporary flooring for marquees or military shelters, and also for permanent warehouse or livestock flooring.

Laurie Luke, GroundGuards managing director, comments: “The show will be a great opportunity to demonstrate once more to the European market our extensive range of innovative trackway solutions, and the key benefits they can achieve in an extensive range of applications and environments. We’re confident that we have products our European partners, old and new, believe in and can use to increase profitability in their rental operations.

“We’re extremely proud of the versatility of all our products, but particularly their environmental credentials. They’re all manufactured from recycled materials and at the end of their effective life they can be re-used or recycled.”
