Yanmar CE EMEA showcases new future-ready machines at IRE 2023.

At this year’s IRE, Yanmar CE EMEA is embracing sustainable innovation and showcasing an impressive portfolio of all-new electric and low-emission machines.

Interest in electrically powered construction machines continues to charge up across the global rental market, and Yanmar Compact Equipment EMEA (Yanmar) is pioneering the transition. Responding to rental demand growth and staying true to its global reputation as a vanguard of fuel efficient and sustainable engine technologies, Yanmar has integrated an all-new range of ‘Premium Red’ electric and low-carbon units into its product portfolio. The company will be showcasing all new units at this year’s International Rental Exhibition (IRE); attendees can get a closer glimpse at the future-ready solutions on stand 2220.

SV17e electric mini excavator prototype

Demonstrating the industry leader’s commitment to a low carbon future, a prototype of Yanmar’s first electric mini excavator will be taking centre stage: the quiet, zero emission SV17e. Designed for the 1.5 to 2.0 tonnes segment, the unit is powered by all-electric drive and features an open-centre hydraulic system with load-sensing hydraulic pump, creating an exceptional experience for both owner and operator. The SV17e delivers 23.5 kWh gross electric power, while its 48V air-cooled motors provide impressive digging, lifting and carrying capabilities. All while meeting the world’s most demanding emissions restrictions and offering ultimate comfort, ergonomics and control.

V8e electric compact wheel loader prototype

The red carpet is also being rolled out for a prototype of Yanmar’s V8e electric compact wheel loader. Weighing 4,500kg with a smooth hydrostatic drive and high-lifting capabilities, the unit is ideal for heavy lifting in all-terrain applications – including tight job sites. It boasts an 800-litre loading bucket, powerful 11kW charging in standard configuration, and 22kW in optional fast charging. The V8e prototype’s multi-function joystick and design is combined with intuitive pilot controls, bringing ultimate operator proficiency and safety.

C08e electric carrier

Yanmar’s zero emission triad is completed by the pre-production C08e electric carrier. The company’s long-standing C08 model has been given an electric makeover, fitted with an 11.5 kWh battery and a power capacity of 24V. Coupled with an operational weight of only 566 kg, this compact carrier has the ultimate power and manoeuvrability to excel in tight spaces. And thanks to the C08e’s smart, colour LCD control panel, selecting an optimum working mode to boost productivity and conserve energy has never been simpler.

ViO33 zero tail swing excavator

Last but by no means least, Yanmar will proudly be displaying its low-carbon ViO33 excavator at the IRE. The 3,300 kg unit’s design principle offers true zero tail swing, with neither the counterweight nor front part of the upper frame exceeding the width of the crawlers. Its compact size bolsters its suitability in tight spaces, and its small turning circle makes the unit uniquely manoeuvrable. The ViO33’s ultra-quiet and efficient engine is designed with low emissions in mind, with an 8.9kW output at 2,200 rpm. Yanmar’s patented VICTAS® system also provides increased support surface, and reduces track degradation and vibration.

In a fast-evolving world, Yanmar’s new range of electric and low-carbon machines demonstrates the company’s commitment to embrace change, and helping to build a better future for customers, dealers and society.
